Report: outside forum guidelines

I got my tiller "thingy" that goes around the mizzon mast fixed. He put a stainless sleeve inside the broken one and welded together. only $45.00. My question is with a N24 what is the best thing to do when the boat is at a mooring. Do you simply let the big rudder bounce back & forth side to side or do you loosely bungee cord it so it has some resistence. My mistake when mine broke was I tied it off too tightly with no give , so the stress caused the stainless to break. Any comments ?
