Diesel advantages

Looking at the costs of gasoline these days, I think its becoming more apparent to the advantages of diesel engines for sailboats / nimbles, etc. My boat has 19 gals, just did some computing that indicates I should be able to go almost 380 miles on a single tank of fuel, averaging 5 kts, of course that also takes about 75 hours to get there. But it also only costs $95.00 in fuel.

I used 0.25 gal/hr @ 5 kts / hr @ 2200 rpms for my calculationss
