as far as new pintles and gudgeons, i've looked for replacements without success. and moving on to new solutions, it seems the easiest thing to do would be to modify an off the shelf set like the ones sold at jamestown distributers or duck works boat building supply. some strap stainless could be welded on to beef them up. alternatively you could do some bronze casting. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFOo5EWNl8M

i also think p&g's could be made out of carbon fiber, epoxy and a few metal components. i've made chainplates winch mounts(etc.) for racing catamaran this way before and the forces on those are huge. and i've seen others lay up carbon fiber p$g's. but obviously it's not the prettiest.

i have seen cast bronze p&g's on a n20 before and that does seem the right way to go. it is essentially 4 or 6 of the same strap-gudgeons with the ends drilled to allow a pin insert. this is what i'm moving to when i have the time.
