Brent is quite right. A big ol' station wagon like that Buick has many charms to the boat tower--especially if he is willing to put up with the generally perceived coolness factor which tends to drop into the negative ranges for such American iron. Get those big wagons while you can, boys... they'll be valuable antiques some day.
Many of those wagons were set up at the factory for towing---and included much of the goodies that we pickup truck drivers only assume our vehicles are equipped with. I've had various station wagons (although of the foreign, smaller variety) all my life and, unless you're wanting to haul loose material (like gravel) are way handier than pickups.
25+ mpg highway mileage and the ability to haul 4x8 foot material completely dry and locked up is a combination you are not likely to see elsewhere. And then there's all those seats --- enough to take Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs out for a day sail.
