Gas was $1.47 a gallon when Bush-Cheney took office.

Report: outside forum guidelines

Cheney formulated a national energy policy after secret meetings - big giant tax breaks for Big Oil and no tax breaks for wind, solar or conservation. Bush canceled regulations enacted by Clinton requiring 50% increased efficiencies in air conditioners and refrigerators. The CAFE standards for automobile mileage were not raised. Now, here we are with $4 gas and no end in sight. Cheney is advocating drilling in ANWAR as the solution. The numbers don't work and he must know that.
