We need to grow and move forward from the context that was then into what is now. The right to bear and availability of guns for criminals has become more of a danger in our society than a benefit to it. If we can ban cars that don't have seatbelts don't you think we have obligation to consider the dangers of automatic weapons in the hands of societal rejects? The merchants focused on profit from this market could not care less about rights or welfare of our citizens. At the very minimum, we need very stringent laws on who gets to buy a gun and who doesn't. PS Somebody that openly says he'd shoot the local sheriff if he came on his property to enforce a law is obviously someone could well be someone who should not qualify..
