They won't lift a finger to clean up something in their own town, but they will bitch about nothing being done.
Glad to hear you cleaned something. I'm a big conservative (not republican, there is a big difference nowadays) and I keep my whole world clean. I don't bitch about the fact that someone needs to do something, I am one of those guys who just picks up the trash and moves on.
This thread was sparked when I picked up a battery in my local park after my morning run. I saw all the enviro-friendly bumper stickers, but the people who drove those cars just walked on past it. I knew they saw it, but they did nothing. Admittedly, I waited until my run was over, but I picked it up and threw it away. It's a small thing, but it's what I do to keep MY park nice!
