In Response To: Senator Obama is proof that we live in a Democracy. (Boudreaux - bolger bateau)

We are most decidedly a Republic.
If we were a democracy, we'd get to vote on every single bill that is put before congress.
Democracy is actually a pretty nasty form of government in it's purest form.
Thomas Jefferson actually wrote how he abhorred it as a form of government, but then again who cares what a bunch of "old dead white guys" said! (sarcasm)
