I didn't like that you couldn't tension the tack without also raising the tension on the clew. Independent control of both lets you achieve a really tight reef tack without putting a lot of strain on the clew at the same time.
I also found that even though I have roller grommets in the tack and clew, I needed to use my cabin top winches to get the reef tight, which made me nervous about tearing the sail if something got hung up.
