P-15 "Eilidh", SF Bay------WebKitFormBoundaryolSDT1XwH4X+q Date: 10/16/08 6:42p.m. Report: outside forum guidelines In Response To: Mast gate (link) (Chris J) A very simple mast gate/sail stop can be created by taking a length of cordage, say a foot long piece of 3/16 yacht braid, and wrapping it around the the mast tightly for two or three turns just above the "Wide Spot" opening and tying it off with a square knot ... it will keep the slugs from exiting the slot perfectly well... Just about any kind of line will do...( bungee cord doesn't work for this as it stretches and slides too much).
