All things on the Minnow must perform multiple functions, that's the rule. I have one of those bungies with the balls on the end. In storage/trailering mode it helps to keep the furled sail on the boom. In sailing mode I use it below the last sail slug. When I reef it easily allows that slug to drop down. You are certainly correct Bruce (as if there was ever any doubt), a bungie can slide, but for me it's faster and I did not have to spend any $$ since I already had the bungie. I take it around the mast two turns so it has enought tension to hold the sail slugs up.
