no silicone on boats

In Response To: no gorilla glue on boats! (Bill P15 'Sukoshi' Eagle, Idaho)

if you use silicone, you will contaminate any surface which it(or your sticky fingerprints)touches...and you will never get paint to stick in those areas again without going through hell. Sanding the invisible residue will it push in into the surface, and the paint will get wierd and alligator. 5200 is good.
