Is my Honda 2hp okay?

A couple weeks ago I posted that my H2hp wouldn't start. I drained the old gas and it started on new gas.
Today I had to run it about 30 minutes to get to where I could get my P15 out of the water for the season. (some day I hope to live where the season is longer than 4 months...)
After about 5 minutes it started running very odd; like it was surging then choking. I "hoped" it was out of gas, as I put very little in last week. After adding gas it did the same thing 5 minutes later. There wasn't any wind, so I couldn't do without the engine, so I just let it run. After a couple seconds it stopped the odd sounds and ran normally for the last 20 minutes.
Seems like it wouldn't have run normally for the last 20 minutes if anything was wrong with it, but those two episodes were disconcerting. Should I take it in for repair, or just ignore it?
