Draining the fuel line..

If you keep Sta-bil in your fuel, it shouldn't be a problem leaving fuel in the hose. If you haven't, when you refill your tank, depress the little ball at the end of the hose with a key, then squeeze the ball a half dozen times to push the old hose gas out and into a bucket. When you hook up to the motor again it will have fresh gas. I would look at getting a new hose every 5 years or so anyway just to avoid a potential failure or deposits breaking loose. If you are using ethanol 10% with an old hose, I would definitely get a new hose.
