Sooo many boats.

Too bad we got there just as everyone was getting ready to leave. Too bad I left my camera at home. Oh, well.

We got a very late start leaving the house and got to the ramp in time to see the SF gang leaving. I sailed us out there and was having a great time, until I landed us right smack in the middle of the island's shadow. By the time we got to Clipper Cove, I had enough time to chat, eat my sandwich and find the one rock on the whole beach: under Goose's boat. Then Dory made a grand announcement, and it was time for everyone to leave. We caught up to Harry by the bridge, but as he wisely turned and motor-sailed out of there, I stuck to my course and nearly got sucked under the bridge. We arrived back at the ramp nearly an hour and a half late. Had to eat dinner in SF. What a warm, welcome thing it was to walk into a Boston Market for dinner after a looong day on the Bay.

FWIW, I know I saw at least two cameras pointed our way on the trip back. Did any of the shots turn out? They'd make a cute Christmas card.

Katie, only a beach shot. Maybe someone will post a shot of you sailing back. -- Carl P-19 #1432 "Dagmar" on SF Bay -- 10/26/08 9:38p.m.
