When I pull mine with the Subaru Forester (about 160 HP) its almost like nothing is back there at all. Depending on hills and speed, I can even get up to 25 Mpg towing the Potter (my car rarely averages 25 in normal driving) I could easily believe a Miata could do it. Congratulations on finding a fun way to tow your craft. Mike
