During lunch, I climbed to the top if the earthen causeway that connects Yerba Buena Island, on the south, with Treasure Island on the north. The causeway is what shelters Clipper Cove from the winds that blow in through the Golden Gate. From the causeway I could see the winds blowing up whitecaps. It was on my return to the beach that I sat down with Paul. I mentioned the view from above, the expectation of of turbulence at the mouth of Clipper Cove and around the bridge piers, and the importance of siting on the windward side.
