My end boom has the ability to adjust the angle of the cleat in relation to the pull on the sheet. I angled this down one notch. Do this on dry land so you can retrieve pieces you drop. Once I did that, I snap it to release, like the reins on a horse. Also, if in doubt, I don't cleat it. The ratcheting faceted block allows me to hold the sheet taught with only two or three fingers even in strong winds. By not cleating it, I can allow it to play out quickly. Study the archives, most every P-15 capsize I have reviewed, involved a cleated sheet.
