I also converted to boom-end sheeting this year and bought the factory unit. I never noticed a problem un-cleating, but after a long week of sailing, I did decide to go to a thicker mainsheet. I went up to a nice, thick, soft, hand-friendly 3/8" line from Samson. This line was, however, too large of a diameter for the factory boom-end block. So, the small IM block went to ebay and a new, larger ratcheting cam block came from ebay. The new unit is a much stronger block and handles the new line diameter easily.

Hey, I just like fat ropes.
