When its cold water I sail pretty conservative. When its warm I get more playful. The first time out alone I almost went over. Gentle wind....cleated main....stood up to make reefing lines even because of compulsive nature....big gust came along and I sort of fell on the wrong side holding on to boom. Lucky for me she rounded up and I was able to drop low to get center of weight lower. Real close. Now its just second nature...hold main sheet in hand (Im a wimp) dont lean on the boom as support when sailing along. Watch the water not how even and clean everything is heh heh. Can happen to any of us in a heart beat. Enjoy your Potter. Sail at your experience level keeping in mind its a different boat than you had before. Soon you will wear your turtle episode like a scar with a good story behind it. Like the others say...dont feel bad. Stuff happens.
