because I had to take a chance at guessing at the keel ballast, and the mast placement. But I figured I could modify them later if it needed tweaking. I built the hull using thin strips of balsa, then sanded it smooth and applied fiberglass cloth to make a real strong hull. I made a centerboard box for the retractable keel, then decided to just glass it in. The mast slips into a tube like a laser, but I use three stays to support it anyway. Servos operate the mainsail and rudder. The sail has two battens to hold the shape. The mast is a hollow glass fishing rod, and the boom is a glass batten. The mylar sail was cut from an old windsurfing sail.
