Just like Tim on "Morning Dove" I have mine on the opposite side of the battery under the sink. This was a stock location when she was built. My battery weights 57 lbs. so I put extra chain and my tools and another 150ft of rode in the same place as the battery. Probably 25/30 lbs. So figure 75 lbs on the battery side. Water is about 8lbs a gallon so I put 9 gallons in the water bag and that makes it balanced along with the wieght of what ever is in the ice box on the same side. The water bag has never leaked but I do have a huge boat sponge under it where the piping fits into the bag. This adds a cushion and chafe pad between the hull and fittings. If it does ever start a leak I can reach under the water bag and feel if the sponge is wet. Then with the extra anchors, sleeping bags, clothing sacks etc. under the V-Berths it seems to keep the extra weight forward and balanced side to side. Now IM puts the Battery or batteries forward under the V berths so all you have to do is add extra weight opposite the water bag under the stove section to balance it side to side. I know this all sound trivial but I like my boat to sit level and not have a list to it. It's just one of my things. She also comes about better with the extra weight to keep the chine down.
