There are things to keep in mind about Lake Tahoe. It's crowded during the season, It has some real big fast dangerous boats and lots and lots of dangerous personal water craft. By dangerous I mean those who are in command of them. It's expensive no matter what you pay for. It is real cold except in August and September close to shore. Otherwise it's as close as you will get to an ocean sail on an inland lake.
