Cockpit drain winterizing

What I have done here in Wisconsin is to first blow out any water and then fill the drain with RV anti-freeze. I suppose any auto antifreeze would work too. Then I put a rubber stopper in the hole. My boat is completely covered, but stays outside all winter. Thsi has worked for seven seasons so far.
