I store water in semi-flat gallon "juice bottles" under the berth in my P14. I can easily fit six of them in there, probably 8 or 10 if I had that many. I believe the extra weight forward and low is helpful. I'd like to eventually develop a means of locking the stowage covers down, so that in a capsize I'd have all that water trapped in the bottom of the hull to assist me in righting the boat. The bottles are easy to fill at home or at the ramp, and easy to bring one at a time out when needed.
