The interior of Old #2 was pretty well worn out when I got here. A lot of the old wood had started to dry rot so I tore out the port asn starbord "setee area". I am trying to think about how to set it up for camping and extended trips. The wood on the forward berth area, and the rear berths is a little soft. I am thinking of applying a 1/4 inch plywood top, screwing and sealing with a good adhesive , and applying a couple of coats of epoxy paint.
I love the articles you published about Hamada and the Sea of Cortez. My goal is to try to have Old #2 in good enough shape to take her there next spring/summer. Probably to Peurto Penasco (rocky Point) first, and then to San Carlos/Guymas. Maybe a trip across the Sea to Meluges.
I would love to pick your brain for ideas on setting Old #2. Thank you for your input!
