I would not use 5200 because it is very difficult to remove a fitting after it cures. The marine stainless steel fabricating facility near me strongly suggests using Life Seal. I have used it at their suggestion with great success. It works particularly well in sealing metal to a fiberglass deck.

If a core is involved, I saturate it with Smiths Penetrating Epoxy.
