If I'm able to successfully mount the autotiller, it will be interesting to see how well it works on a boat as small as a P-15. I can't imagine I'd ever expect it to do the steering in brisk conditions while I sit back and watch (although, it could be fun seeing what it does). My intent in buying the thing is to rid myself of the tyranny of the tiller. I have a cajun tiller tamer and it lets me lock the tiller in place for a few minutes at a time. The problem is, it won't let me move around the boat and hold a course. As soon as I scramble into the cabin to grab a sweater or a cold drink, the boat charges off in a new direction. The ballast shift is just too much.
If the autotiller will help the boat to stay on course long enough for me to scoot around the boat (slowly, for the autotiller's sake) without the usual swerving and chaos, I'll be pleased. If I can use it for more than that, kewl.
