Upto the max tounge weight, or what is comfortable for you to handle. Under 10% leads to the trailer wagging. The more tounge weight you have (percentage wise) the better the trailer tows. Over 10% just puts more load on the tow vehicles suspension, tires, etc. That at least is my experience.
