The stove broke (or was already broken) during the trip, so the skipper's decision to not use the stove was made to avoid unnecessary fire hazards.
I remember we tried the mac and cheese MRE... it was good, just a little crunchy as the macaronis didn't have a chance to soften up without hot water.
I decided to go with the MREs since it was easy and was tasty and didn't require a whole lot of concentration. I'll most likely go this same route again next year, with a new stove.
We also had canned soup and PB&J aboard as well, but they ran out. Maybe more of it next year, less of the MREs.
And thanks again to Chuck P. for letting us use his stove for boiling our water for the MRE at Army Hole!
