In Response To: Jeeps and Towing (Daryl J. Yearwood P-19 "Narglewiggit")

About 20 years ago, I towed a 3500 pound boat with my old straight six Jeep. It did great, but there were a couple of times that I wished I had trailer brakes. The important thing is to plan ahead and use your gear box. Also, avoid hard right turns while braking. The best part of any cantankerous 4X4 is the Low Range it offers. Even my little 4 cylinder Tracker does a better job than many SUV's at the boat ramp, because of the true 4 wheel drive and low range.
