I can believe it. I came into Bodega Bay on an ebb tide last month. You have to stay to the starboard of the buoy off Bodega Point, because between the buoy and the point there were breaking waves. Straight ahead of me there were also breaking waves. Beyond the point you have to turn to port to avoid the breaking waves in front of you. From there it is a straight shot to the breakwater. In all it was quite challenging. The fact I just covered 58 nautical miles didn't help.
