Dear Potter Community:
Moments ago I completed the reorder of markers on the Worldwide Interactive Potter map. I moved the markers of all Potter owners who replied to my request for updated information to be among the first 200 markers on the list which makes them all visible when the map opens.
In some cases Potter owners had placed markers themselves during that brief period when persons with Google accounts were able to edit or create markers on the map themselves. Those markers appear on the last set of lists on page 7 (Google puts them here but I can move them to the first page and will if the owner provides me with their email address and authorization to display it). Otherwise, unless an email address was included in the self-created marker, I did not move it to the list on the first page. If you added a marker during this period without including your email address, look for it on page 7.
I will be sending an email message to each Potter owner whose marker I moved to the first page to ask that they locate it, click on it and verify once more the information for accuracy. Map users should know that when a marker is clicked on which opens it, there is a "Send" link at the bottom of it that can be used to send the web address of their marker to any email recipient (like a Potter owner nearby).
Finally, if they did not indicate a Potter Club affiliation, in their initial reply, I will be providing them the web address of any known Potter club in their area and other club-related information. From this point forward we are in maintenance mode. Upon request we will add, modify, or delete markers. We can add links to owner websites, photos, or a link to their Potter club website. We can add an image of their club burgee. Thank you for all of your cooperation in the development of this map. Hope it comes in useful to Potter owners interested in finding and communicating with others to form fleets and just go sailing.
Happy Sailing!
