Greetings!

For some time I have been exchanging emails with Buzz Gentes of Champaign, Illinois.

Buzz has just retired and around October 2, 2009 he plans on embarking on his dream voyage...The Great Loop!

Buzz will be traveling on this voyage in his greatly modified 2009 Potter 15. The boat has two Honda 2 HP outboard motors mounted on the transom, as well as other additions.

Since Buzz doesn't know how to sail, and time restrictions do not allow him time to learn, he will be leaving the sails at home on this trip.

I won't go into the details here of the route that Buzz will be taking on his six-month plus voyage, you can read all about it below. But he will leave Peoria, Ill, travel several Rivers, to the Gulf of Mexico. to Florida, the Florida Keys, and then back up the East Coast to New York, and back to Illinois where he started! Just wears me out writing about it!

Buzz has established a web site where he plans on posting his progress as he travels The great Loop! You can read all about his planned voyage here:

It will be wonderful if Buzz is able to accomplish his dream!
