In Response To: Too Much Tire Pressure (solosailor)

The tires on my trailer are the exact match in size and wheel for my tires on my Dodge Dakota. Why do trailer tires wear out sooner than truck tires? I probably will get 50-80,000 miles on my truck tires but can only expect maybe 3,000 miles on my D-rated trailer tires. Why the lower miles on the trailer tires? My trailer has electric brakes. I keep the trailer tires inflated to pounds specified on the sidewall of the tires. My whole boat/gear and trailer are all lower than the specs for the trailer tires load per tire. So, why lower miles on trailer tires? are they made differently? what gives?
