Has anyone made or purchased a lighter daggerboard for their P-19?
A member of our club (WCTSS) is considering building a board for his 2007 WWP-19 that is weighted down low but made of composite materials above the waterline to keep the weight of the overall thing down when it is raised.
I know that's not a great description, but I do know that a lot of boats, like the Stuart Mariner (for one) have dumped their heavy metal weighted boards in favor of light fiberglass boards. Do the WW-19 owners here think that would damage the performance of their boats... or improve it?
How many of you think this is a good idea? Safe?
Thanks for your thoughts!!
