View, CA Date: 2/9/10 11:58p.m. Report: outside forum guidelines In Response To: Att;Harry-Angle of the boom when reefing Lateen (pic) (Manny Rubin) I will have to try that. I've been hauling the yard as close to the mast as it will go with the reefed sail (the Larry Brown method). With a single reef and my "towel rack" boom-to-mast attachment, it is still possible to pull the yard against the mast, but that does put the boom at a steep angle and the center of effort remains high. Here I've tied up the buntlines to eliminate the loose sail at the boom. Couldn't quite get the yard against the mast.
