It's annoyed me enough that if I saw it on another boat I might be tempted to ram it. As for the welding, it was quick and didn't seem to transfer alot of heat to the boat. The welds look great now. As for the Solstice, I agree. You DID make the right choice. I think if I do this next year, I'm going to just sail in the afternoons - weather permitting.
