Honda 2 hp idle adjustment

Brian,

I had the same problem. Turns out there is an idle adjustment. It is located in the far left hand corner (as you face the front), under a black casing held by two screws.

With the motor off, remove the engine cover, remove the two screws and housing cover, locate the idle screw, start the motor while cover is off, adjust idle to your liking, stop motor and replace housing and motor cover.

This is best done with motor off the boat and mounted on a saw horse.

Did this on my first try. Was easy.
