P23 on a Lift?

My husband wants to buy a Precision 23 and park it on a lift in a large inland lake in Michigan. Has anyone tried doing this? If so, how deep of water would it have to be in? The literature says the draft is 2'. Any advice about this would be appreciated! Thanks!
