Wind and vang

Winds were probably 15 mph gusting to almost 25 mph. I had full main up and decided to flatten the main with some extra vang tension. Usually, I just grab the vang line only and tension it, but this time I pulled down on the boom with one hand and tightened the vang with the other. The vang is a robust 4:1 Garhauer unit but by pulling down on the boom with extra hand too I probably put too much pressure on the gooseneck for the conditions.
