Near hull speed today

Report: outside forum guidelines

We had 10-15 knots to start (noon time) which built to 15-20 knots with higher gusts. I had my wife and another couple on board and we kept the boat fairly flat. The seas were 1-2 feet so we did have spray while beating. The best was on a close reach where we hit 5.8knots. I thought about a reef in the main, but with the boat fairly flat and moving I kept the full main up. The little boat sure showed her stuff today. BTW, for those looking for an engine, I would certainly recommend the Honda 2HP for the P165. Today we motored straight into the wind against a 4 knot tidal current in the river mouth, and the engine was under 3/4 throttle.
