In Response To: Ben- standing rigging? (John Stevens DS1 "Right Turn")

in the Defender catalog, and they don't recommend them for stays, only life lines, and halyards. They are prone to chafing from sheets rubbing against them. With that said, if I still had a boat like yours, I may be curious enough to try it, but most likely would rig a dual side stay, so a failure in one would not take down my mast. I still rig my spinnaker halyard to the bow pulpit to back up my head stay.
