Thanks for the info, Lee. Our lake is pretty deep in most places. The only shallows that occur come in the fall when the lake has been drawn down (it's an irrigation lake), and even then there are only a few areas to watch for. Learned that the hard way when I dragged the center board through sand a couple times. I've toyed with the idea of installing a depth meter, but not very seriously because it would only be used for a couple months at most, in areas I can probably learn to avoid.
That depth sounder sure looks like it's a nice unit, though.
