Since there are so many new folks here these days and since so many of the old posts have lost the pictures, I would like to suggest everybody takes the time to post your favorite mods for your boat or trailer. These things make our sailing experience better and could very possibly help others here to do the same.
So in that spirit these are the top 3 mods I did to my P-18 Sanity while I owned her that made me enjoy my time on the water much more.
Number 1
I added an aluminum rod to push the rudder down and pull it up easily from the cockpit. My boat had catbird seats and that made reaching the rudder a chore.
Number 2
I trailered my boat all the time and when I bought it she had a 130 genoa on a CDI furler. That was very much a pain to deal with everytime I stepped the mast. So I switched to hank on sails and bought 3 new sails. A 170% genoa, a 100% jib and a storm sail. It did not take me long to realize that the 170 was my favorite sail and I flew it when ever I could get away with it. To add that sail I had to add the track and cleats on the combing to sheet it correctly.
Number 3
Man it's hard to decide between all of the rest of the mods for number three but I'll pick the trailer mods next because I used those improvements every time I sailed. I added a walking board and a bigger winch to the trailer to make launching and retrieval better.
