Date: 5/1/09 5:55a.m. Report: outside forum guidelines In Response To: Very impressive Rob *5 (Jerry Carpenter C-26 # 147) and tools and books and am learning more about the technology of sails behind what I am sewing. I figure it is something I can do as an avocation and make a little extra money (like there is such a thing as extra money in this economy). What I see is that it is feasible to make good quality cruising sails, and the only thing that would remain beyond me or other amateur sailmakers would be high tech racing sails. My next improvement on my sewing setup will be better and more tables to surround the sewing machine to support the fabric as I sew. I want to get it all at the same height as the sewing surface of the machine, too.
