The Stiletto was set up with the chute halyard coming out of a heavy duty mast exit bock, and I can promise you it is a mistake. The block does not last, the halyard chafes, and the whole business jams. All quicker than you think.
On my beach cat I used a simple hound fitting and a swivel bullet block, and that worked very well. My new boat has a small crane, but I don't believe I would do that on a non-masthead rig - you don't need to clear the forestay. Given that you have backstays, something about 1/2 way between the mast head and the hounds should be good. Of course, this all depends on the hoist of the sail. I don't know about the rigging of your boat, but I might be nervous about going all the way to the mast head without the shrouds going that high. I suspect you are OK, though. It depends on how hard you like to push too!
If you run the halyard in the mast, of course, you will need a mast exit block top and bottom. But perhaps try it external first, until you are sure of the location. You may just leave it there. I did on the beach cat. Worked fine.
