It was a fixed dock and the wind would whip over and under the dock blowing the boat, not to mention the waves. My trolling motor would not work at all in your case. My new slip has floating docks and is protected on all four sides Its so quiet that sometimes I can just untie the boat, jump in, then hook up the motor, start it, warm it up, then back out. With no current and no wind the boat doesn't move much. Sounds to me like the High Thrust Yamaha would be a better option for you when it comes time to replace that motor.
