Hi Chet, I bought the lead from from a company in San Francisco called Rotometals. They have a good website (Rotometals.com) and have lead in several forms. I bought the 5 pound lead bars which fit easily into the spaces on either side of the centerboard trunk and alongside the hull. The attached photo shows the ends of the bars as you look forward from the opening under the cooler box. At 5 pounds each they are easy to place by hand in the space available. They cost $1.59 a pound and shipping is free if you order $99.00 worth. I did a similar modification on two of my previous Precisions - a 21 and a 23, and think the extra ballast improves the handling of the boat considerably. Some think otherwise, but I have actually done it so speak from hands on experience. Anyway, it's the differences that make life interesting. Bob
