Here are the Portsmouth handicapping numbers. Without a spinnaker the P-185 should clobber the P-23, all else being equal. The Portsmouth numbers start with Force 0-1, 2-3, 4, and 5-9. Precision 18.5 no spi PRS185 90.2 (91.5) [90.2] (88.0) Precision 23 PRS23 96.0 98.0 97.1 95.6 (92.0) Donnie I will do my best to sail well, but the 185 is a very formidable sailing boat. Looking at several other popular boats, the 185 should run neck and neck with a Hunter 25.5 or a tall masted Catalina 25. I do not underestimate the potential of any Precision made Boat.
